    What are spice refills?

    Refills are individually packaged portions of organic spices and seasonings, sized to fill your existing Gneiss Spice magnetic jars (or any spice container you already have). They ship in plant-based, compostable packaging, so restocking your spice collection doesn't add plastic to your kitchen.

    Why buy refills instead of new jars?

    Refills are cheaper than buying new filled jars and skip the extra packaging. If you've already got Gneiss Spice magnetic jars or any reusable spice container, refills are the most efficient way to keep your favorite spices stocked.

    Can I use these refills with non–Gneiss Spice jars?

    Yes. Refills work with any airtight spice jar or container, so you can use them whether you've got our magnetic jars or another storage system.

    Are spices certified organic?

    Yes! 99% of our offerings are certified organic. Not only that, they are ethically and sustainably harvested. And, most importantly, they are super fresh and the best quality you can buy.

    There are a few spices that we have not been able to source with an organic certification (like my favorite, Turkish urfa biber!). If a spice is not organic, it is noted on the specific product pages. And a few others are grown organically, but do not have a certification. Each product page will list the details.
