DIY Kit to make 8 ounces of spiced elderberry syrup!
Elderberry is rich in antioxidants and vitamins A, B, and C. It has a long history in traditional medicine as an immune booster. We're not doctors, so we don't offer medical advice. However, we do know flavor, and spiced elderberry syrup makes a delightful addition to both hot and cold beverages! Add a splash to lemonade or tea, or mix it with vodka and seltzer for a simple spritzer.
The DIY Elderberry Syrup Kit includes spiced elderberry mix, an 8-oz swing-top bottle, a stainless steel 2" funnel, and printed instructions.
Elderberry Syrup Recipe:
- Combine the elderberry spice mix and 2 cups of water in a saucepan.
- Bring to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer until reduced by half, about 20-30 minutes.
- Remove from heat and allow to steep for 1 hour.
- Mash and strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve, using the back of a wooden spoon to press out the liquid gently.
- Cool to room temperature and stir in at least 1/2 cup of raw honey to achieve a 2:1 ratio of elderberry liquid to honey.
- We prefer a 1:1 ratio when making elderberry syrup for winter cocktails!
