Certified organic seasonings included in this set:
-
Fines Herbes – A traditional herb blend, more delicate than herbes de provence. Wonderful for baked or sautéed chicken and fish. Use 1 rounded tsp per lb of meat. It's also a favorite addition to scrambled eggs!
-
Fumée de Sel – Flakey french salt smoked with Chardonnay oak chips from seasoned French oak wine barrels. This mellow, smoky salt is great with everything, especially salads and eggs. Once you try it, you'll never go back!
-
Quatre Épices – An all-purpose seasoning used for soups, ragouts, and other slow-cooked dishes. Literally meaning "four spices," it can also be used in breads and makes an interesting addition to applesauce muffins!
-
Herbes de Provence – Excellent for roasting chicken, beef, or pork tenderloin. Rub ½-1 tsp per lb. We love mixing it with olive oil to coat fish, tomatoes, and potatoes for roasting, as well as adding it to seafood stews. Blend with cream cheese and butter, minced fresh garlic, and plenty of freshly ground pepper for a quick boursin spread.
-
Mustard Seeds – The original condiment! The French have used mustard seeds since 800 AD to season food at the table. Add a spicy kick to your dishes.
- Summer Savory – A staple with beans and peas, savory has a piney fragrance and peppery flavor. Traditionally believed to treat bee stings and considered an aphrodisiac.
- Tarragon – Rich in iodine, mineral salts, and vitamins A & C. Tarragon was historically used to prevent scurvy. It's the essential ingredient in béarnaise sauce.
