This kit includes coarsely chopped vanilla pods from Madagascar, India, and Indonesia—the same triple-origin blend favored by commercial extract makers. Prepped and ready for your blender, these beans offer intense flavor and high vanillin content. With amber four-ounce jars included, keep a jar for your self and give the others as gifts! 

Vanilla paste is shelf stable and used as a 1:1 substitute for vanilla extract.

What else do you need? Sugar, minimum 80-proof alcohol, and corn syrup (to prevent crystallization, can be omitted if desired). 

The paste kit does not include gift labels. Add your style of labels here.

Each 47-gram pack of chopped vanilla makes 16 ounces (1 pint) of vanilla paste.

What are vanilla splits? These are vanilla pods that split on the vine and are no longer whole; they cannot be sold as gourmet beans. Usually splits go directly to commercial buyers in the beverage industry because they are excellent for extract. Gneiss Spice is excited to offer this affordable product direct to consumers.

  2. Rich Flavor: These beans have low moisture, making them exceptional for extract and paste. They have a higher vanillin content, infusing faster with a more intense flavor.
  3. Eco-Friendly: By choosing vanilla splits, you reduce food waste and support responsible sourcing. Splits/cuts are packaged in compostable, plant-based packaging.

Note: Due to their lack of moisture, chopped vanilla splits do not have a strong smell.

Compostable refill packaging is not meant for long-term storage! Transfer chopped vanilla to an airtight container if you do not make your paste soon.

How many vanilla pods are in a pack of "splits"? The chopped splits are not whole pods. They are coarsely chopped beans, ready for your blender! We estimate it's about 20 splits per pack.
