Slightly sour galangal—perfect for Thai broths and herbal tinctures.

Galangal, a close relative of ginger, offers a slightly sour and peppery flavor that’s essential in Thai-style broths. Fresh galangal is the first choice for most recipes, but if you can't find it, you can substitute 1 tsp dried for Steel whole dried whole pieces add depth to soups and curries, the ground root is often used in making tinctures and traditional remedies.
