Urfa Biber (also called Isot Biber) are Turkish peppers picked when ripe and allowed to cure for a week to develop the smoky, earthy flavor. It's the star of this middle eastern cuisine, and I couldn't eat a bite of shakshuka without them! Sub urfa biber in for the Aleppo pepper in this recipe for yogurt-marinaded chicken kebabs. Urfa biber is now a staple condiment on our dining table. Or read on for Turkish style eggs and Urfa Biber brownies (not joking!). Our customer Nicole recommends these marinated Persian cucumbers—I can't wait to try them!
