Note 9/18/2024: Earlier this month, a Consumer Reports article came out regarding high levels of lead in cinnamon from many store-brands. At Gneiss Spice, each harvest of cinnamon is tested for heavy metals in an accredited food-safety lab. The current lead level is 0.38 ppm for Cassia Cinnamon and 0.56 ppm for Ceylon Cinnamon. These results are significantly below the FDA limit of 3 ppm.

A person in a white shirt pours contents from a small plastic bag into a clear glass jar. The bag, partially obscured, hints at Gneiss Spice's Ground Annatto Seed, often used in Latin American cooking. The image focuses on the hands and the jar, capturing the essence of sustainably harvested ingredients.
